For us at Binary, March is all about SXSW. The yearly trek to Austin has become a bit of a pilgrimage for us, much like it probably is to many of the other thousands of people that descend on 6th Street each year. I took the photo above on my way to the airport this year, and for some reason I just really think it captures everything I was feeling as I left LA and headed for what is one of the craziest weeks of the year. We’ve returned to LA with a number of projects in the works, and before we get to some of those exciting announcements, I thought I’d update you guys with 3 of the latest tracks that Binary artist’s have come out with.
The first ‘new’ track, is actually quite an old track. “Puzzle” was the first track that Fabian made under his current moniker and it was something that was a huge leap towards his current style.
The reason we wanted to share it today is because the track is getting some recognition for being the music behind one of the recent amazing GoPro promotional videos. Jamie Pierre’s extreme skiing is the perfect visual accompaniment for Fabian’s energetic electro.
Next is a remix that The Kids Are Radioactive did for Ra Ra Riot, for their single, “Too Dramatic”. TKAR’s style has bounced around the map a bit since he joined Binary, but the one constant is that his ability to produce a great SOUNDING track never goes away. This remix is one of his most recent works and if its any indication of the direction he’s moving, we’re really excited. Its just the kind of remix that belongs in a big room dancefloor, but fits in your car just the same.
Next, the guys above (LexiconDon) and their most recent remix for Seattle’s Mad Rad. I don’t really need to go into it too much, except to say that you should take that sweater off before it starts. We all need that song to get our blood pumping a bit, and before I make my move for the door, this is the song annoying my neighbors.
And lastly, as a parting gift, here is a little video we put together to commemorate our trip to Austin with LexiconDon. We all had an amazing trip and I hope the video does it justice.
