Chela – Romanticise

One of the more exciting new Aussie acts out there, Chela has delivered a fantastic single titled ‘Romanticise,’ released on Kitsuné. It’s a bouncy slice of pop goodness that’s pretty hard to resist, evident in the fact that it’s only been floating around for about a week and already went to #1 on Hype Machine, and has well over 100k plays on soundcloud.

Chela – Romanticise

Her voice really just sounds so pure on this. You know how sometimes you have to listen to a song a few times around before you make up your mind about it? This isn’t one of those songs at all… or wasn’t for me anyway. It’s a catchy, upbeat song, with great songwriting and production. You may remember Chela as the vocalist in Goldroom’s song ‘Fifteen,’ but this is really her first big single release on a label, and seems like it’s going to be a bit of a breakout for her. Check out the video below.

The single was released as an EP, with an accompanying package of remixes. None of the remixes quite stands up to the original for me, but solid re-works all around. The Gold Fields remix stands out, putting a bit more dancey spin on ‘Romanticise.’

The original and all remixes are available on iTunes, and you can grab the remix above as a free download.

Xylos – Summerlong (Touch Tone Remix)

Andrew Verner, presently Touch Tone and formerly Short Circuit, will always be respected in this house as a Binary O.G.

Xylos – Summerlong (Touch Tone Remix)

His most recent rework of Xylos – Summerlong is a funky tune that will have you moving in minutes. This remix is dreamy, LA-washed, and disco-heavy. If you like Goldroom, you’ll love Touch Tone.

A perfect mixture of piano and disco, this song will truly “end the summer with a bang”.

When Blake rolled out this project I was down and recognized the musicians ear and quality but wasn’t particularly excited, then the Urgent edit and now this. You may have heard this one in Goldrooms latest mix or blasting out of the window of a car that you wish you were riding in. Maybe you heard it in a dream under a cherry moon. Possibly you took mescaline in Zion and somehow channeled this particular refrain into the deepest depths of your expanded consciousness. Anything is possible. Regradless of the introduction, the reaction is gratitude and appreciation. Blake pumps the bass (in a good way), brings the clarity of the original vocal right up front and breaths a fresh life into a mournful and beautiful tune. Bravo Baron. Well Done. Free download?? TOO COOL. get it while you can. TUNE!

Simon & Garfunkel – The Sound Of Silence (LUXXURY Edit)

Goldroom – St. Ides Heaven (Elliot Smith Cover)

Speechless. Two of my favorites collide in an unexpected combo. Not since Poolside did Neil Young have I been this stoked on a cover of a classic songwriter. Josh brings new life, R.I.P dear and beloved Mr.Smith,to a fun Elliot Smith jam and shows just how much he has grown as a musician and producer. One of the bomb things about Goldroom is his ability to shift in style while capturing an emotion and still holding onto the Goldroom vibe.If this is representative of his upcoming  EP,entitled Embrace and being released on September 9th, then this may prove to be Goldroom’s biggest year yet. Add an extensive tour with full live band to support and this dude might just earn a MF crown.

Goldroom – St. Ides Heaven (Elliot Smith Cover)

All Hail King Goldroom. Crack an ice cold 40, put the top down and let the ocean breeze caress your body. Its going to be quite the ride. Support with a “heart” on Hype Machine, share the song if you are digging it and spread the word. It’s all Love. Binary Approves.

Stevie Nicks – Stand Back (Final DJs Remix)

Final DJs continue to evolve with their latest remix of Stevie Nicks’ classic -Stand Back. Another year has passed, but this track takes us back again to the italo disco-flavored synth of the 80s.

Stevie Nicks – Stand Back (Final DJs Remix)

Let the synthwave take you out to sea, let the “deep galactic” sounds take you on a space adventure, and let the driving disco vibes take you on the ride of your life. Then return to earth and plot your next voyage. Excellent job mates. Binary approves
