Goldroom Live on East Coast w/ Brett, Man & Woman, Teeel

It is a very special week for us on the East Coast! Binary Records cofounder, Goldroom (Josh Legg), will be performing live in NYC, D.C. and Boston. A truly inspiring icon in the tropical disco scene, the sounds of Goldroom’s oceanic synthesizers and heartwarming vocals are exactly what the East Coast needs to slow down the pace and live in the best moments a little longer. Some opening acts to also look out for include gorgeous remixes from rapidly emerging nu-disco duo Man & Woman, the beautifully relaxing sounds of indie dance band Brett and the powerful synths of hypnotic electropop producer Teeel. Needless to say, this week we will be winding down to a dreamwave of chill-tempos.

Architecture In Helsinki – I Might Survive (Goldroom Remix)

THIS. From the choral intro and slow build to the inevitable Goldroom bounce, this right here is the jam. The shimmery highs twinkle, that bass pushes us forward and a driving beat carries it all along almost effortlessly. There is a natural, musical, organic feeling that really sets his production apart from the overwhelming throng of formula driven “musicians” and that intangible quality is just one of the qualities that makes Goldroom such an appealing producer and remixer. Goldroom remixes with a clear consideration for the original, allowing the song to have new life while supporting the artists original vision.Architecture in Helsinki & Goldroom. Get familiar. Happy Thursday.

MS MR – Hurricane (Goldroom Remix)

GOLDROOM & MS MR. What a tune. The groove is there along with a restrained and airy, funky vibe that highlights the vocals beautifully. Urgent and pressing, upbeat yet thoughtful. By the 4:00 mark its a free for all. Next level type bounce while maintaining the power and emotion of the original, gorgeous. As a producer Josh continues to explore and go in new directions while retaining that signature Goldroom feel. Give him a heart on Hype Machine and support the artists you love. Binary Approves.

MØ – Don’t Wanna Dance (Goldroom Remix)

Another fantastic remix out today from Binary godfather Goldroom. It has all the right ingredients that we’ve come to expect out of a great Goldroom remix – bouncy, dreamy and as always, an unmistakable tropical feel. This re-imagination takes MØ’s original vocal, which is wonderful on it’s own, and twists it into a dance floor beauty built for summertime DJ sets. I have a feeling you’ll be hearing this a lot at pool parties and beach festivals everywhere in the next couple of months. Or you can just listen here and pretend you’re on vacation, sipping a mojito on a beach of lush white sand.

St. Lucia – All Eyes On You (Goldroom Remix)

St.Lucia and Goldroom. What else really needs to be said? If you are not familiar, get familiar, If you are already down, lean back and let the sax and vibes escort you to another zone. As always Josh,is on point. From the first notes we are smiling, the vocals dance in and out, ghostly and fitting, the baseline slinks in and the soothing groove comes into full focus. There is a longing, a reflective pleasure. Right up our alley and a welcomed departure from the after holiday, pre- new years crash/re-grouping. So smooth.Float away.

Goldroom – Embrace (Cyclist Remix)

With The Ep still in full-on repeat mode, Toronto’s Cyclist takes lead single Embrace down a shimmery groovy path…and we are loving it. From the initial heart felt synth notes to the sunny groove to come, this one feels so nice. Vocals soar and an introspective, almost bitter sweet vibe takes the already gorgeous original in a different and beautiful direction. Enough gushing, check the track. TUNE! Happy Wednesday.

Goldroom – Embrace

Goldroom is back with a fresh new EP titled ‘Embrace,’ and the title track will have you clinging to memories of summertime as we briskly drift into the fall. Lending wonderful vocals on the track is Melbourne based singer/songwriter Ariela Jacobs. ‘Embrace’ is a fairly dancey song, with soft synths stabs and all of the songwriting elements to make it a pleasing slice of pop perfection that will be on repeat in your headphones for months. The release will be followed up by a full North American live tour, beginning this week in Chicago – all dates can be found here. Check out the beautiful song below, and catch them on the road soon!

Goldroom – St. Ides Heaven (Elliot Smith Cover)

Speechless. Two of my favorites collide in an unexpected combo. Not since Poolside did Neil Young have I been this stoked on a cover of a classic songwriter. Josh brings new life, R.I.P dear and beloved Mr.Smith,to a fun Elliot Smith jam and shows just how much he has grown as a musician and producer. One of the bomb things about Goldroom is his ability to shift in style while capturing an emotion and still holding onto the Goldroom vibe.If this is representative of his upcoming  EP,entitled Embrace and being released on September 9th, then this may prove to be Goldroom’s biggest year yet. Add an extensive tour with full live band to support and this dude might just earn a MF crown.

All Hail King Goldroom. Crack an ice cold 40, put the top down and let the ocean breeze caress your body. Its going to be quite the ride. Support with a “heart” on Hype Machine, share the song if you are digging it and spread the word. It’s all Love. Binary Approves.

Owl Eyes – Jewels & Sapphires (Goldroom Remix)

MF Goldroom, this dude just keeps on surprising me. Considering I know him personally you would think that would not be possible but it is his ability to bring the authenticity and charisma of his spirit to his music that really sets him apart. With each remix and original track Goldroom shows a different aspect of his style, staying signature-Goldroom but incorporating different facets. If that seems overly intellectualized——–he consistently makes music that makes you want to dance. With no further ado….Here is his latest, a remix of Melbourne sensation  Owl Eyes.

The Knocks – Modern Hearts (Goldroom Remix)

The Knocks, Goldroom, St Lucia…..as always Josh delivers a stellar remix. Considering the quality of the company he is keeping these projects have more and more of a collaborative type vibe. One of the many things that is awesome about how much Goldroom has blown up is watching people that he used to be blogging about for free on the blog working with him and seeking him out. Pretty inspiring. Beyond that the magic is obviously in the music, this one has an emotional edge, a little more subdued a little darker, still infectious and superbly done. Check it out.

The Knocks – Modern Hearts (Goldroom Remix)

This one has kind of  a City Girls sentiment and vibe to me which is a high compliment as that is one of my all time favorites by Sir Goldroom, Irregardless, by 3:40, when the electric guitars come up front and the synth gets all sexy Sadeish this one stands alone. A cigarette boat bounces across the surf, the sun sets while the wind whips through our heroes hair, his eyes are far away, he is remembering love.Give this one some love. Free Download you say??
