Goldroom – Mykonos (Fleet Foxes Cover)

Goldroom. A household name now and a brand that inspires confidence in quality tunes with an escapist nostalgic twist. I became friends with Josh pre-Goldroom era (PG?) when he was part of NightWaves along with fellow Binary boss Kyle Petersen, it was a sincerity and authenticity about them that brought me into Binary and then opened up a whole other world of music to me. The genre that these guys championed has mutated and crossed over into mainstream pop while remaining alive in the underground, wether that be the Synthwave of Mitch Murder or the current synth pop incarnation of Moullinex as well as hundreds of other artists over the last three years. It is that rare quality of accessibility, sincerity and killer musical taste and talent that have established Josh/Goldroom as the internationally popular artist that he is today. This tune is a cover of his favorite Fleet Foxes song Mykonos, not to be confused with his other cover of…Elliot Smith…the man has soul. Check it out. The vocals are his own, legit and heartfelt as the emotion that he pours into every song he crafts. Discover his music if you haven’t already.Free download as well. Support Quality music. Goldroom – Till Sunrise feat. Mammals (Frogtown Premix)

Forever friends of Binary, Frogtown did a great premix for ‘Till Sunrise,’ our latest release from Goldroom. It holds true to the spirit of the original, while adding a bit darker, raw touch. Frogtown plays live tonight at The Satellite in Silverlake, so if you’re near LA come end your Labor Day weekend right with a little rock ‘n’ roll. There are also rumors of free pizza…

Goldroom – Till Sunrise

At long last…Goldroom on Binary. “Mastermind” Producer Josh Legg AKA GOLDROOM and Binary have released  a dreamy fantastic original. Featuring breathy emotional vocals courtesy of Mammals and a longing, smoothed-out vibe, Goldroom continues to diversify his sound. Goldroom approached this release with his original “#thepremix” concept, basically releasing the vocal stems prior to releasing the song and enabling producers to create interpretations with the vocals minus the influence of the original track. The originality of the idea has had us sifting through so much incredible content from producers from all around the world (thank you!), it is the original itself however that delivers that nostalgic magic we associate with GOLDROOM. Support the music that you love and spread the word after all, as the man himself pointed out, “It’s the only way to help this music grow and flourish!”

Goldroom Live on East Coast w/ Brett, Man & Woman, Teeel

It is a very special week for us on the East Coast! Binary Records cofounder, Goldroom (Josh Legg), will be performing live in NYC, D.C. and Boston. A truly inspiring icon in the tropical disco scene, the sounds of Goldroom’s oceanic synthesizers and heartwarming vocals are exactly what the East Coast needs to slow down the pace and live in the best moments a little longer. Some opening acts to also look out for include gorgeous remixes from rapidly emerging nu-disco duo Man & Woman, the beautifully relaxing sounds of indie dance band Brett and the powerful synths of hypnotic electropop producer Teeel. Needless to say, this week we will be winding down to a dreamwave of chill-tempos.

Architecture In Helsinki – I Might Survive (Goldroom Remix)

THIS. From the choral intro and slow build to the inevitable Goldroom bounce, this right here is the jam. The shimmery highs twinkle, that bass pushes us forward and a driving beat carries it all along almost effortlessly. There is a natural, musical, organic feeling that really sets his production apart from the overwhelming throng of formula driven “musicians” and that intangible quality is just one of the qualities that makes Goldroom such an appealing producer and remixer. Goldroom remixes with a clear consideration for the original, allowing the song to have new life while supporting the artists original vision.Architecture in Helsinki & Goldroom. Get familiar. Happy Thursday.

MS MR – Hurricane (Goldroom Remix)

GOLDROOM & MS MR. What a tune. The groove is there along with a restrained and airy, funky vibe that highlights the vocals beautifully. Urgent and pressing, upbeat yet thoughtful. By the 4:00 mark its a free for all. Next level type bounce while maintaining the power and emotion of the original, gorgeous. As a producer Josh continues to explore and go in new directions while retaining that signature Goldroom feel. Give him a heart on Hype Machine and support the artists you love. Binary Approves.

MØ – Don’t Wanna Dance (Goldroom Remix)

Another fantastic remix out today from Binary godfather Goldroom. It has all the right ingredients that we’ve come to expect out of a great Goldroom remix – bouncy, dreamy and as always, an unmistakable tropical feel. This re-imagination takes MØ’s original vocal, which is wonderful on it’s own, and twists it into a dance floor beauty built for summertime DJ sets. I have a feeling you’ll be hearing this a lot at pool parties and beach festivals everywhere in the next couple of months. Or you can just listen here and pretend you’re on vacation, sipping a mojito on a beach of lush white sand.

St. Lucia – All Eyes On You (Goldroom Remix)

St.Lucia and Goldroom. What else really needs to be said? If you are not familiar, get familiar, If you are already down, lean back and let the sax and vibes escort you to another zone. As always Josh,is on point. From the first notes we are smiling, the vocals dance in and out, ghostly and fitting, the baseline slinks in and the soothing groove comes into full focus. There is a longing, a reflective pleasure. Right up our alley and a welcomed departure from the after holiday, pre- new years crash/re-grouping. So smooth.Float away.

Goldroom – Embrace (Cyclist Remix)

With The Ep still in full-on repeat mode, Toronto’s Cyclist takes lead single Embrace down a shimmery groovy path…and we are loving it. From the initial heart felt synth notes to the sunny groove to come, this one feels so nice. Vocals soar and an introspective, almost bitter sweet vibe takes the already gorgeous original in a different and beautiful direction. Enough gushing, check the track. TUNE! Happy Wednesday.
